Established in 2024, The Strettons Podcast is still the only village podcast in the world. We have a growing audience in 76 countries discovering the Shropshire Hills for the first time. As well as promoting the area to visitors through our magazine-style episodes, we are also creating an oral history of the people who make this land special.
We do this by interviewing people born and brought up here about their childhood, the stories passed down through the generations and their hopes for the future. The Shropshire accent will live on forever thanks to these archives.
We do all of this for free, for fun and for you. Please enjoy it and if you like what you hear, give us a 5 star rating and a review – it costs nothing and helps more than you can imagine.

Podcast in the news

Listen to our interview on Radio Shropshire on January 6th 2025.
If you like what you hear, why not support the podcast.
What we are and are not

We are independent and self-funded. We are impartial, welcoming and inclusive. We are local to Church Stretton and the Shropshire Hills.
We are not political or faith-based. We do not represent anyone but ourselves. We do not cover news from other places unless it has an impact on our area. We do not pay for content.
We cover stories with a human interest. Because we are self-funded, we only publish content we are interested in, in the hope that others will also be interested in it. We are not a public service broadcaster.
Diversity and Inclusion

We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone, regardless of sex, age, gender, ethnicity, ability, or background is heard. We believe that diversity enhances our collective strength, promotes innovation, and creates a richer, more dynamic community.
The Stretton Focus magazine (unconnected to this podcast) has a really useful What’s On section if you’re in the area or planning on visiting us.
